Saved to Serve

Since the beginning of the camp meeting we have been hearing about been saved. In the morning, or afternoon or the evening, no sermon had been preached without mentioning the fact that we have to be saved. It is essential to be saved. We have been told what salvation is, Salvation from sin. Matter of sin, God detects, God hates, It is an abomination to God, and that is why He had set up this camp meeting so that we might get out of sin. So that we might be saved.

[19] Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2 Tim. 2:19

This verse summarizes everything, it is the foundation, and it is to depart from iniquity, and that is the seal that God puts on every one that is saved. God knows them, and if you are saved, you will know yourself. People say that Heaven knows those that will be saved. Students who take exams, will usually know whether they will pass or fail, except they want to deceive themselves. So also is this matter of being saved, you know it, and God knows it. The seal is 'let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. Now after you are saved, God expects something out of you. That is, you should serve him, to be useful unto him, to do something for him. What does God wants you to do. [20] But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

21] If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. 2 Tim. 2:20-21

And prepared unto every good work, if any man will purge himself from these, from iniquity, God will help him, when he had purged himself, God purges out the adamic nature from his heart. Then he will be sanctified, and he will ready for the master's use.

To be useful to God is very important in our life after we are saved. Usually there is something in our heart to do something for God. We have an hunger in us to do something for God, however small it may be, we still want to do something for God. We may not know how God wants to use us, but we want to do something anyway. As we are applying ourselves, God will surely make use of us.

Something we need to have is a burden in our heart. A burden in our heart that if God had saves us, we need to be useful to God to see that others are brought to God to be saved. When Jesus Christ was born, the angels that appeared to the shepherds on the Judean hills told them that they have brought good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people - that a Saviour was born to save us from sin. The shepherds went, they saw the Saviour, and the next thing they did, was to tell the news about - that a Saviour was born. When Jesus Christ was leaving the world after he had died and resurrected, he called his disciples together, and gave them what we call the great commission. Go ye therefore into all the world, and teach all   nations. At his birth, at his resurrection and at his ascension, it is the same news - tell it. Tell the story, of a Saviour who had been born to deliver from sin. Today, God wants us to tell it. There is a song we sing - Somebody told you the story, somebody told it to you. If somebody told you the story it behooves you to tell someone else. [29] The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. Ezekiel 22:29 This was in the land of Israel. This are people brought up by God, and today it is a masterpiece, an example to other nations. But unfortunately for them, they fell below the standard God expects of them. The bible tells us of their behaviour. You see, they have oppressed, exercised robbery, vexed the poor and needy and we see this all around in our nation and compare this. Those who want to be righteous are oppressed. Especially since they know that they came out of such sin, when they see the sins committed by others their souls are vexed.  It is the desire of their hearts that people should change. We want our nation to change. But wishing and talking about it will not do.

[30] And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Ezekiel 22:30

Is it not a pity? There was oppression alright, things were bad, the life people lived were horrible, but then God was looking down. God was looking for something. Let us see somebody who will stand before me and tell me about it. Let us see somebody who will tell the people about it. But alas, there was none. Alas, there was none. [31] Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God. Ezekiel 22:31. We pray that God will not pour is indignation upon us. In the African sub region that is called the third world, we know that things are the same, a lot of poverty, oppression, unfaithfulness, not judging the poor etc, God will stand for somebody who will stand in the hedge.

Sometime ago I heard that Mother Crawford - the founder of this organization had a vision. She saw a crowd of people coming down from a widening mountain pass, from the top of mountain down. It was a huge crowd. The mountain pass was hedge with a fence. Everybody was surging forward coming down. You know such a crowd could not be stopped, and beside the mountain pass, there was a place where the fence was broken. If somebody can stand and fill that gap, it is possible that God could use to save the people from destruction. That is the challenge we are here to face. God could have been talking to you and to me, but He wants to take us to task this morning. It is a fact that we are thinking about our nation, robbery, violence, highway robbery but what are we doing about it?

Isaiah makes known to us what happened in his own days.

[14] And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. [15] Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

Is it right? That is the case all over the place. If you are much concerned, or you are a Christian, you fall into trouble. While we pray for our civil servants and people in government places, that God will promote them and put them in places of power, but many of them when they get there, they will rather want to come back to be a clerk. Because what they find out that a lot of things are expected of them to do, they cannot do it. Every day they are in jeopardy of their life. If they do not keep under the blood of Jesus Christ, people will use any means of darkness of hell to make sure that they get rid of them.

That is why Isaiah tells us that

[4] None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. [15] Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.  [16] And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

There was no man, no intercessor, that is part of the work, that is part of the service, to be an intercessor  before God. To plead for the nations, 'Lord have mercy for our nation, Lord bring down salvation to our nation.' I remember many camp meetings ago, the motto was, May the Lord give us a rain of salvation, a revival of salvation, a revival of repentance. We thank the Lord that He had started to answer our prayers and we know that He will answer it to the end. God wants intercessors, people who will serve him, stand before him and plead, for the course of our nations. As we pray for the nations, souls will be saved. Someone says if I bring the next one to me, you bring the next one to you, and then Africa will be saved.  Bring the next one to you, your neighbour will bring another one too, thereafter every one will be won for Christ. May the Lord help us to do that. Amen The service of God should be a burden in our heart. Someone has happily put it across that God had put people around to seek for lost souls but many people are seeking for the lost coin. Are you in that position? Think of it? God had sent you forth not to go and seek the lost Naira, the lost cedi or whatever coin you spend in your area, God had sent you to seek for the lost soul. Prayer request in the prayer room is - Lord help me, somebody is disturbing my promotion, I pray God that He will destroy the works of the devil. That is true, we are praying for you. With that comes some money to spend, silver and gold. But what burden do we have for the lost souls? Let’s face it, and consider it. In our families, how many people are saved? How many people are in the gospel? How many have washed under the blood? How many have their names written in the lamb’s book of life? Are we positive about the fact that if their names are written in the book of life, they are just living a vain life, and when they die, that will be the end, separation between them and us? Whatever they may have, whatever they may become, their position, their wealth, their fame, their popularity, whatever it may be, without Christ, there is that eternal separation between them and us. What earnestness, what zeal do you have in your heart, what burden do you have that these people should be saved? Many of us have prayed that God may save our relations. And we thank the Lord, that He is actually answering those prayers. But then we still have more for God to do. We look out of our immediate villages; we look into the town from where we come from. What interest do we have that all these people are saved?

In Romans 10, we read about the great burden that Paul had.

[10:1] Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

That is Paul's burden. They were the people that persecute him a lot. He had been in their camp, he had been a vessel to them. They gave him the authority, and he used the authority. But he met God, and that made the difference. God told him Saul why persecutest thou me, it is hard to kick against the pricks? That day, Paul repented, and that was the end to all his ambition to that side. He told God what do you want me to do? God told him a lot of things that he would have him to do. Not that alone, but God told him many things he would suffer for His sake. That day, Paul caught a vision, and he said “and I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.” When God saves you, I am sure that He will give you a vision in your heart. As you consecrate your life to God, whatever you want me to do, I will do, wherever you want me to go, I will go.  You may not understand all what God told you that day, as well as Paul did not understand all what God was telling him. But as events unfolded, Paul understood. It was not too strange to him. I pray that you may not lose your vision. I pray that you may not lose that heavenly vision Amen. Paul said the desire of his heart, is to see that his people Israel are saved. Do you know he was persecuted a lot by this people. They may misunderstand him many times. But despite all these, Paul knew that they did these in ignorance and he prayed for them.

[34] Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. [35] Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.  John 4:34-35

When do we work? When do we pray? When do we intercede for souls? When do we serve God and do our best for Him? Is it good to procrastinate? Oh, there is still time, Oh there is still time, when I have done this and that, then I will come back to do it. At the time of Jesus Christ, that was 2000 years ago, Jesus said the fields were already white for harvest. He said lift up your eyes, my friend do you have a vision? do you look into the harvest fields? And what is the harvest? it is not of yam, maize and guinea corn, it is the harvest of souls, souls that will never die, souls that will have to face God in judgement. As we have heard, where the tree falleth there it shall remain. There is no sending back from the battle. If a sinner dies as a sinner, he does not get to Heaven and get changed. It is here. If a soul dies as a saint, he will not get to heaven and become a sinner. That is why we say where a tree falleth, as it falls there it will remain. May the Lord help us. This matter of having a burden is very important, let us think of it. The ministers can have a vantage point from where they are sitting down. But if you look back, you will find a lot of crown on the galleries. But those are areas we can see with our eyes. But beyond this tabernacle, outside, not immediately on the campground, outside to all the nations we came from, let us consider the busy streets, our roads, our large cities, steaming with crowds, do not forget that these are souls. One, one soul each that are very precious in God's sight. These souls are very precious in God's sights that we see in various nations. And they need to be saved. They need to be made ready for heaven. Are going to be like Cain, God asked Cain where is your brother? What was his answer? Am I my brother's keeper, What is my business, he is my brother, leave me alone. Those souls that area about, what is my business with them? Well if we are touched by their feelings, if we are touched that they have to be saved, what are we presently doing about them?

[2] For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. Romans 10:2.

Zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. This is another side to the story. There are many people who think they have zeals for souls, unfortunately not according to knowledge. Rather than help souls, they are making things worse for them. They are making their eternal destiny to be horrible. Because they are not rendering any help to them. There are people who have a dogma that they will serve God in other to be saved. Is that the right thing? It is not from service that saves your souls, it is first to be saved, don't put the cart before the horse, as we have heard many times. There are many that are labouring up and down today, they want a big revival and they are going about it in a big way, spending mammoth amount of money to see that souls are saved, but are they saves themselves? Revival is prayed down, it is not worked up. By clapping, by making a lot of noise and making the microphone sound big, people feel that is the way revival is worked up, or stirred up, do you stir up revival up that way? Oh no. Revival comes from heaven and that is why God is looking for intercessors. God is looking for people who will see to it that souls are saved. He that winneth souls is wise saith Bible. May God give us such wisdom? Amen. All our endeavours, all we try to do, all we spend our time for, are we wise? A lot of young people leave schools, leave the universities, they want to get into the world, or rather get into life and become something. Have a good job, have the money that goes with it, but then if you are saved, what do you think about this gospel?

Jesus said

[15] And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  Mark 16:15-18.

Well if we decide to be a soul winner, thank God we are doing it according to the command our Lord Jesus Christ. Because Jesus Christ said we should go into all the world and preach the gospel. And when God gives a command He gives the power that goes with it.  Do you know what He said, signs will follow. In the gospel we preach, we thank the Lord that we have seen the signs following. From the various stations we come from, we thank the lord for the various testimonies about the signs that have been following the preaching of the gospel. Devils are cast out. Praise God for that.  Not in the way that people who have no knowledge do it. I remember some years ago, some universities students came to the church at Moloney street, at Ebute Metta, they said they wanted to pray. Well the church is the house of prayer for all nations. So we allowed them to go there and pray. Something strange started to happen. They made a ring among themselves, they put a girl kneeling in the middle of the ring, and they next thing was that they said, come out of her. How many of you? My friend, that is a zeal not according to knowledge. Jesus Christ our Lord cast out demons, did he form a ring? The Bible says, by His word, by His word and we can cast out demons by the words of Christ. As we heard previously, what power do we have to cast out devils as human being? To face the devil? The prince of the power of the air? We have no power, but Jesus Christ said all power in Heaven and earth is given unto him. Amen. So that is his own work to do, we can quote his promises, we can tell his promises, that God had promised to do this and sure he will do it. As we pray God will answer prayers. That is the way to cast out demons. Without praying over anybody on the altar here, after the word of God has gone out, people come here to the altar rolling on the ground, why did they roll? It is the devil in them that ones to come out. Thank God, that God is casting out Devils. Devils of cocaine, smoking, drinking, fornicating, doing anything that is against righteousness, thank God that he cast out those demons, and he destroys the works of darkness. He said for this cause, the Son of man appeared that he might destroy the works of darkness. When works of darkness are destroyed, people are healed. That is why we tell people that leave the matter of ' Lord healed me, the sin of my forefather' leave that alone, you confess your sin to God. As the power of God comes down, and throws out the darkness, light will come in, all the works of darkness will go with it. Thank the lord that the sings have been following the preaching of the gospel. Those that were bitten by dogs with rabies, God had healed them. Those who were bitten by snakes, God healed them. Those who took poison, the Lord delivered them. Very many other things that we see people do, miracles, if we are the 'go ye, go ye type, we would have called the newspapers here since the camp meeting had started. The overseer told us about 60 or 80 people healed. We should then line them up in front of this altar, and get them to be interviewed one after the other by the radio reporters and news broadcasters; this is what the Lord is doing in the Apostolic Faith campground. But thank God when Jesus Christ was on earth, even after he had healed and worked miracles, he told them do not tell anybody, but thank the Lord, the news spread. So we thank the |Lord for what He is doing in our midst, we cannot tell it all. Even individual tell us here that if they were to give their testimonies today, they will not finish narrating them. We thank the lord that the Bible is very precise and it is true. We see it work and it happens. Not only spiritually but physically in our lives.

Well Jesus Christ has told us to go and tell the gospel.

[13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. [14] How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? [15] And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:15

That is the word of God. Preachers have to be sent to tell the word of God. They have got to go and tell this Jesus who they do not know about. It is when they hear that faith is created within them. But then somebody has to tell them called the preacher. If the preacher is not sent, how can he go. Note this point! A preacher has to be sent. There are many preachers today who are not sent. Nobody is backing them, they are on their own. They are all over the place. How can they face the host of hell alone. That is why they come back defeated. Some of them after some years, you will not believe they know anything about Christianity. Like the play we saw here, Mr Thomas was asked a question. I think I saw you testifying with those people previously, he replied that they should forget about that, let us talk something else. May the Lord deliver us. I remember many years ago, we met a man, we were going to buy some things from him, we were telling him that we are missionaries and we wanted to use them for the church, he said oh yes, he had been trained. He had trained to convert the world, but the world had converted him. That is a sad story, I will never forget. He said the world had converted him and he cannot convert the world again. My friend see that you are sent.

We thank the Lord that, when we are saved, we are to serve. In the church where we teach you, when you are saved, you have the right to give your testimonies. We are not talking about, coming before the elders to be anointed before you give your testimonies; God had anointed you to do that. So that is your responsibilities. You have got to live your life at work at play, in the buses wherever you are, live your life as a Christian and preach the gospel with that. Not what some people do today, you find them preaching to a crowd that will not listen to them. In the buses they will want to preach to people who will not want to hear, people who are cursing them - '..what a noise, keep quiet, let us enjoy this ride.' But he continued to talk on over those who do not want to hear. Who sent them? May the Lord deliver us.

We need to be taught. We need to be trained to be able to work. May the Lord help us to be trained. In the Apostolic Faith, we have no seminaries or bible colleges where we go to study for a degree.  But thank God that we are not bereft of training, we are trained. Praise the lord for that. We do not behave anyhow, we are definite, we know where we are going and we walk towards this. The ministers do their best to make sure that they line us up, praise the Lord for that. Immediately some people are saved, out they go, without any experience, without any understanding of where they are going. If we talk to them, they reply that souls are dying. It is true souls are dying. Jesus Christ the Lord was in the world for 30 good years. He did not start his ministry then. Should he not be the one saying souls are dying? Zeal without knowledge, may the Lord deliver us from them.

[15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. [16] But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 2 Tim. 2:15-16

Study to shew thyself approved unto god. Study! We thank the Lord that God gave Rev. T. G. Oshokoya who God used to start this work around this area a vision. The vision he had was that the gospel needs studying. We need to learn, we need to know. After all Jesus Christ said we need to know of his teachings so that we may know the will of the God to do. The church, the nucleaus of the church started at Agege. Br T (for Timothy) felt  that the work ought to be established among people who can study. At that time, civil servant and people who are a bit knowledgeable in the community in Lagos leave around Yaba and Lagos area.  God lead him, and he took the work down to Yaba. There he had a little room, where service was held. It was the lounge of someone. The wife of the host believed, while the host did not believe. When the service was about to start in the evening, the host dresses up in agbada and crosses over the feet of those who have gathered for the service to go out. He had nothing to do with. Thank the Lord the work began to grow little by little. From there they moved to Ibadan street then to Abeokuta street and later to Simpson street. We all know the Simpson church, I do not think it is more than 40 by 45 feet. But it was a very big church to us; we thought we have everything we wanted. We had a little gallery, not more than 10 feet wide, and the ladder to the gallery was outside. We enjoyed it, we thought that was the best of the churches. We did not know that by our present standard that was not enough to be a prayer room. But thank the Lord, the theme we want to consider is that people studied. We had Sunday school books, and people studied with all their hearts, rightly dividing the word of truth, especially those who have come from Pentecostal churches, from all these spiritual churches, where actually no real doctrine was established. When they come across the gospel, they hear the doctrines, the teachings of the word of God, what God wants you to do, and what you should not do, oh it satisfies their souls. Study to shew yourself approved unto God. Today that instruction still remains. We have Sunday school books, we have studies in the scriptures, which are camp meeting teachings. We have tracts, we have large papers. All these as we study them they teach us the way of the everlasting life.  They teach us the core, the foundation of the gospel, so that we know what we stand for, what we should do. We do not sit down teaching old wives fables. All that will not do any spiritual good to our souls.

If you find people in the gospel for 5, 20, 30 years in the gospel, it is because they have studied the word of God, but when we find people saying 'if it is not because of this. I would have left the gospel' you have already gone, are you not? What else do you have, what have you studied, what do you know that God wants you to do and not do? If you know that already, then there should be nothing to take you away from the gospel. Paul said 'Shall it be tribulations, trials, sword peril?' he is not bothered because he knows what the bible says, I know whom I have believed. Do you know whom you believe, do you want to leave him then? If it has not been for this or that, I would have gone, you are already gone. May the lord help you to stay, Amen. When you study the word of God, you know what you are standing for, then you will remain. You will remain, then it will help you with your experience to talk to others so that they may remain.

Do you know what Paul told Timothy,

[14] But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 2 Tim. 3:14

Do you hear that, who is your teacher? Br Soyinka, or somebody outside? There are people who are swept here and there by every wind of doctrine. It is a fact that we are talking about Saved to serve, but my dear friend what you do not have; can you give it to other people? No. Who is your teacher? Are you assured of those things that you have learned? Are you confident of your teacher, that teacher is a man of God; I know what he had taught me is true, praise the Lord for that. We know our teacher. Who are your teachers; do you have confidence in them? If you have confidence in them, you will be so sure that they will not mislead you. Praise the Lord for that. People who have passed through trials through the thick and thin of battles, they have gone through battles for 30 years, I think you will need to look at their face, and say they do have something. When we see Br Ogunnaike here, I knew him when he was a young man, his hairs were all black, or do you think they became white from his birth? He grew up, praise the Lord and we saw it growing white gloriously, it is found in the way of righteousness. Praise the Lord for this. So continue in the things that you have learnt, it is when you are able to continue in this way of holiness, in the study of the word of God, that you will be able to part it on to others.

[15] But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: [16] Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 1 Peter 3:15-16.

That is another part of your life. You want to work for God; people have got to see what you preach in you. Sanctify the Lord in your heart. There is a man of God, the former pastor at Ijebu Ode, he use to say people should fear God, stand in awe of God, is another way of saying sanctify the Lord in your heart. May the Lord help us. Sometimes you find people behaving as if they do not know how to sanctify the Lord. Moses, on the meekest man on earth, what caused his trouble? God told him because you did not sanctify me before this people, you would not get into the land of Canaan. You did not stand in fear or awe of me, it does not matter what people do or say. People will annoy you, nevertheless, sanctify the Lord, do not let them get you into trouble. They may speak evil of you, it does not matter, but the Bible did not state that you should contribute to it. Neither did the bible states that you should do things that will make them talk evil of you. Do not add  to it. Have a good conscience. Even them who speak evil of you will see the good life which you live and they will know that they were accusing you falsely when they see your meekness, your conservation, that is the good life you live in Christ. May the Lord help us. It is good to be saved to serve, but we need to be taught how to do this service for God. Or else we shall fall into the condemnation of Satan.

[11] If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:11

So if you want to work or you want to preach, what you preach is the word of God. Even when you want to pray, you need to pray the word of God, because it is only the word of God that can tell you the mind of God. Because when you pray, you quote the promises of God, you have promised to do this according to your word, do it Lord, as the preacher told us the other day, that command ye me, and God will surely answer. If you command God because it is his word, God is bound to obey it. But if you put the word of God aside, the Bible states, your prayer will be an abomination unto him. If any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. We cannot say everything about this training, to be useful, to serve the Lord. But God gives us some insight. We can learn from the examples of the ministers of God who have used their lives to the best they can before us. Br T tells us that if you want to answer it from the scriptures, have a basis for it in the bible. It is then it will be according to the oracles of God.

We are saved, and we want to serve.  May the Lord help us to serve. We have a burdern but it should be according to knowledge.

[16] For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 1 Cor. 9:16.

This is somebody who had a vision. God had told him already this what you have to do, and he replied that by thy grace I will. So he said if I preach not the gospel, a dispensation of the gospel had been laid upon him, and woe if he preach not the gospel. So there is no way, in other words. No other way, this is my life, this is my food, this is health, this is my conversation.

[17] For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. [18] What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 1 Cor. 9:17-18

If I have to do it unwillingly, sometimes you think some people are working for God unwillingly. You have to beg them and pamper them like small children. Ah, God have mercy upon you. Do you have a dispensation of the gospel laid upon you?    Do you feel it is a woe if you preach not, if you do not do what God had told you to do. That is the way we were brought up, that is the way we were taught. And that is the way we will  teach you too. It is your business to preach this gospel. If you do it willingly you have a reward. Who gives you the reward? Rev Elebute, Rev Ogunnaike, Rev Soyinka? Are they going to give you the reward? It is a pity if they have to. Because all what they can give you is naira and kobo.  May be a little smile and praise, well done. When you get to the gate of heaven, and you have to face Jesus, what reward will you have? May the Lord help us. Willingly!  Willingly! with all your heart. I have headache, my chest is paining me, I tell people is that an excuse, and you got up you went to your own work? To get and get your daily bread? But when you get back in the evening to come and do God's own work, you are tired, you have headache. God have mercy upon you. Ah, at weekends, some people are always sick on Saturday and Sundays. Do not curse yourself. I tell people not to curse themselves, by saying I am not well. You got up on Monday to Friday to go to work, If I can get up on Monday to Friday, I will get up on Saturday and Sunday. If  I have headache, it is not for me, praise the Lord for that. You should have that as your motto. Should you have headache? Should you? You should not. It does not matter it will pain you, I am not saying it will not, but forget it, because God has given you work to do, and you have got to do it. On till something hangs me up on the bed, on till something hangs me to lie on the bed, then I will accept that I have to lie down. That is the way we were brought up, may God help us to continue that way?

The fields are already white to harvest, that is what the scripture says, is it not true? And times are running fast, one thousand an nine hundred and ninety years since Jesus past to heaven. That means that we are 1990 years to the coming of Christ. I think the time will not be too long, it will not be long. If that is the case, is there much time to work for God, its there's not something to do that will constrain you? Don't you feel constrain that you have to do something. May the Lord help us. We have work to do. May the Lord give us the heart to do it, may the Lord give us the wisdom, and may the Lord give us the willingness to do it. There is no way. No way. He said woe is me, if I do not preach the gospel. We have got to preach it, and preach it and die. May the Lord help us, may the Lord give you the burden in your heart. Many of your people need to be saved.  If you are not saved this morning may God have mercy? This morning tell God that I want to be saved. This morning is the day to be saved, and the Lord will hear your prayer. Amen.
